Test Steps
Steps to execute this test
  1. User is stuck on a puzzle
  2. User locates hint button (lightbulb icon)
  3. User clicks hint button
  4. Confirmation dialog: 'Use hint? Rating gain will be reduced by 50%'
  5. User confirms
  6. One piece on the board is highlighted (the piece to move)
  7. Hint button becomes disabled/grayed out
  8. User makes the highlighted piece's move
  9. User completes the puzzle
  10. Completion modal shows: '+6 rating (hint used, -50%)'
  11. User understands the penalty was applied
Expected Result

Clear hint indication. Only piece highlighted (not destination). Penalty clearly communicated. Hint single-use per puzzle.

  • User in Puzzle Climb (rated mode)
  • Difficult puzzle loaded
